Unfortunately, Spotify premium costs money. $9.99 a month to be exact.

If you’re on a super tight budget, this might be one of the things that don’t make the cut.

Of course, there are sneaky routes to getting Spotify Premium for free. Mods and ways to hack the system. But we’re not gonna recommend them because they’re unsafe and could get you banned from Spotify.

Here are all the legit ways to access Spotify for free, or for cheap, in 2022.

Get one month free with a Spotify Premium trial

The easiest option. Head to the Spotify website, and sign up with your email address and billing information.

Just remember to set a reminder to cancel your subscription before the month is up, or you’ll be charged.

Get three months free if you sign up with PayPal

Even better than one month free: three months free.

PayPal has an offer that allows you to enjoy threeeee free months of Spotify if you sign up with them. Head to PayPal’s website to sign up.

Use a Spotify Plan for huge discounts

🚶‍♂️ Spotify Premium. One person. $9.99 a month. That’s a lot.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 If you can find one other person to hop on a joint account with you, Spotify Premium is 30% cheaper at $6.50 each.

👪 If you can find up to 6 people, a Family Account works out at just $2.60 each a month.

To prove you’re a family, you just have to list yourselves under the same address. For legal reasons that’s all we’re saying.

👩‍🎓 Alternatively, if you’re a student and you haven’t signed up for a Student Spotify account yet, get on it. Instead of $9.99, it’s a much more manageable $4.99. As someone no longer in higher education, take all the student discounts you can get. Please.

Use Cashback Apps like Raise and Rakuten

With these apps, you can get up to 50% off a 6-month membership by paying on a gift card. This involves some math. Bear with us:

With Raise you can get a Spotify Premium gift card through email at up to 4.5% off. On top of this, there’s also the cashback option that gives you back 5% on the cost of your Spotify Premium gift card. If you’re new to Raise, you get a $10 welcome voucher.

You can then set up a Rakuten account on top of your Raise account. Go through the Rakuten portal first before proceeding to Raise to confirm your purchase. Minus 5% cashback from Raise, that’s $57.

Plenty of companies out there offer Spotify premium as a bonus feature for purchasing their product.

☕ Random, but if you work at Starbucks, you qualify for a free Spotify Premium account.

Of course, you don’t wanna be spending tons of money on a product you weren’t going to buy anyway. So only go for these options if you were thinking of buying from AT&T. Or starting a career at Starbucks.
