Getting free food is actually quite straight forward.

All you need to do is take a couple of minutes to sign up for reward programs 🍔

Here’s a few top deals we’ve spotted online:

Arby’s: Free classic roast beef sandwich with any purchase when you sign up for Arby’s Rewards. You can also get $3 off a $10 spend and free small fries every Tuesday. And it doesn’t stop there – if you’re visiting on a weekend, you can get $5 off a $20 spend

Chili’s: If you sign up to My Chili’s Rewards, you’ll get free chips and salsa or a non-alcoholic drink on every visit when you spend a minimum of $5. Plus free dessert on your birthday, free kids meals and appetizers

Chipotle: Join Chipotle Rewards to get an instant freebie. There’s rumored to be 10 Freepotle drops this year which include guac, queso blanco, chips, double protein, fountain drink, and more

McDonald’s: When you sign up to MyMcDonald’s Rewards you can get free large fries with a $1 minimum purchase. And when you make a purchase, you can collect points which can be used to unlock free McDonald’s faves. For every dollar you spend, you’ll receive 100 points

Auntie Anne’s: Get a free pretzel after your first order and on your birthday

Buffalo Wild Wings: 6 free wings during your birthday month. Plus, if you sign up to the rewards program, you can start collecting points with every order which you can then use on free food 🎈

And for more ways to save on food…

Use an app like Olio and Too Good to Go 📱

Each year, more than $408 billion in food is thrown away. Shockingly, nearly 40% of all food in the US is wasted.

Apps like Olio and Too Good to Go are helping fight the good fight 🌎

For a fraction of the price, you can grab perfectly good food before it’s thrown in the trash.

And it’s not just restaurants that sign up to the apps, it’s grocery stores too. At certain times throughout the day (mainly towards the end), you can find some great deals. The food is still perfectly good, and in some cases, you can get full meals.

✅ Bonuses: you get to fight food waste by eating delicious food.

❌ Downsides: you do have to pay some, but you get a good chunk of it for free - one user wrote “I've spent perhaps $25 this week and gotten over $100 in delicious food.”

For tips on how to become a waste warrior, here’s 5 easy ways to reduce food waste and save money.

Student discounts

If you’re a student make sure you carry your ID with you at ALL times. You can get at least 10% off at some of your fave restaurants.

Some of which include:

  • Chick-fil-A
  • Chipotle
  • Dairy Queen
  • Dunkin’ Donuts
  • Firehouse Subs
  • Kroger
  • McDonald’s
And if money’s tight at the moment (thanks inflation), we’ve got a list of places where kids eat free 🍕
