How do I add cash to my Credit Builder Card’s available credit limit?

You’ll need to add funds to fuel your card’s limit so you can get spending. But never fear: whatever you add is yours to spend

With a Credit Builder Card,* your credit limit (aka how much you can spend with it) is set by how much money is in your security deposit. So if you put $200 in your security deposit, you’ll have $200 available credit to spend with the card.

How do I add funds?

To add funds to your Credit Builder Card's security deposit:

  • Go to Spend

  • Hit Add cash

  • Select how you'd like to add your money

You'll have two options to add funds:

1. Instant transfer (free, from a debit card)

  • Choose the amount

  • Check the connected debit card and make sure it has enough money on it

  • Hit confirm to move your funds

2. Direct deposit*** (to transfer part of your paycheck on paydays)

How much do I need to add to use the Credit Builder Card?

When you sign up for the Credit Builder Card, you need to activate it with an initial transfer. It can be as little as $1. However, if you're eligible for a cash advance boost,** you'll need to transfer the qualifying minimum amount to get the boost.

You should know: the more money you add, spend, and repay on time, the more great stuff gets reported to the credit bureaus 🧠

How soon after adding funds can I start using my Credit Builder Card?

When you do a free instant transfer, you can start using your Credit Builder Card right away.

If you set up a direct deposit, it can take a period of 1 to 2 pay cycles for your funds to start being deposited.
