Cleoriginals Community — Terms & Conditions

Cleo ("Cleo" or "Sponsor") operates the Cleoriginals Community programme ("the Community"). Participation in the Community constitutes your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions ("Terms").

1. Programme Overview

The Cleoriginals Community is an exclusive programme for Cleo's top UK users, giving members early access to features, rewards, and community activities. These Terms govern all aspects of participation, including eligibility, community conduct, referral schemes, merchandise, and data use.

2. Eligibility

The Community is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over who:

  • Are active users of the Cleo UK app;

  • By joining the Community, members will receive community-related communications from Cleo. These communications are necessary to operate and administer the Community and are processed on the basis of Cleo's legitimate interests.

Cleo reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to disqualify any member who does not meet these criteria.

3. How Members Are Invited

Eligible users will be identified automatically based on the eligibility criteria set out in Section 2. An invite will be sent by email to eligible users, including a link to join the Community's WhatsApp channel. In addition there will be an area within the App that all UK users can join the community through. No purchase is necessary to be invited or to participate in the Community.

4. Community Platform & Conduct

The primary Community channel is a WhatsApp Community ("the WhatsApp Community"), comprising an Announcements channel and one or more sub-groups. Members should be aware of the following: 

  • Announcements channel: One-way broadcast from Cleo only. All members are auto-subscribed. Members are unable to post in this channel.

  • Sub-groups (e.g. General Chat): One- way broadcast from Cleo only. Members are unable to post on this channel.  Members' phone numbers will only be visible by admins or by people who they have saved as a contact. By joining, members accept this visibility. 

  • Cleo will never DM members asking for account details, passwords, or financial information. Any such message should be treated as a scam and reported immediately.

Cleo reserves the right to remove any member from the Community at its sole and absolute discretion. 

Members are also subject to Whatsapp Terms and Conditions.  

5. Community Features & Activities

As an OG Community member, you may have access to the following features. Cleo reserves the right to modify, add, or remove features at any time without notice.

a. Feedback Sessions Bi-weekly structured feedback polls and prompts on Cleo features, UX, and product direction. Participation is voluntary.

b. Beta Access Early access to certain new Cleo features before public launch on an as-and-when basis. Beta access is provided at Cleo's sole discretion. Cleo makes no guarantee of ongoing beta access or access to any specific feature. During beta testing, Cleo may collect and process data about your usage of beta features to improve and develop those features. Further details on how we handle your data can be found in our UK Privacy Policy.

c. Behind-the-Scenes Updates Monthly updates on upcoming product developments. Members may be invited to vote on features, product names, or new initiatives.

d. Data Insights Weekly anonymised Cleo data insights shared for informational and engagement purposes only. These insights do not constitute financial advice.

e. Promotions: Periodic promotions for prizes. 

6. Merchandise

a. Eligibility All UK users in the community will be eligible to receive merch 

The final merchandise selection will be confirmed to members prior to distribution.

The merch supplier will provide a URL link where users can order their merch by selecting the merch and inputting their address. 

7. User-Generated Content (UGC)

a. Voluntary Participation Cleo may occasionally ask members if they wish to share their story, screenshots, quotes, or other content ("Member Content") for use in Cleo's marketing and communications. Sharing Member Content is always opt-in. 

b. Consent Process Before any specific piece of Member Content is used externally, Cleo's community manager will:

  1. Contact the member directly via WhatsApp DM to request permission;

  2. Specify exactly how the content will be used; and

  3. Obtain an explicit, affirmative response.

Silence or a reaction emoji will not constitute consent.

c. Aggregated Insights Anonymised, aggregated insights from polls and feedback sessions (e.g. "87% of OG members said X") do not require individual consent and may be used by Cleo in its marketing, provided they are not attributable to specific individuals.

d. Financial Content Any Member Content that references a member's individual financial situation, savings behaviour, debt, or income will not be used for publication. Cleo may share aggregated data insights as described above. 

8. Data Protection & Privacy

Cleo's Privacy Policy is available at https://web.meetcleo.com/page/privacy-policy. Please read the policy to understand how and on what basis we collect information about you, and how we protect this information.  

9. Membership Status & Removal

Inactive members will not be automatically removed from the Community. However, Cleo's community manager may send a re-engagement message to members who have not interacted with the Community for four (4) or more consecutive weeks.

Cleo reserves the right to remove any member from the Community at any time, with or without notice.

10. General

  • Cleo reserves the right to cancel, amend, or suspend the Community or any aspect of it at any time without notice.

  • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

11. UK PRIZE DRAW TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Overview

  1. These terms and conditions (the "Terms" govern the UK Prize Draw (the "Prize Draw").

  2. The promoter of this Prize Draw is Cleo AI (UK) Ltd ("Cleo"), a company registered in England and Wales with number 16667519 and registered office at Fourth Floor, The Gilbert, 40 Finsbury Square, London, United Kingdom, EC2A 1PX.

Eligibility

  1. The Prize Draw is open to Cleo account holders with a connected bank account who are UK residents aged 18 years or over (excluding employees of Cleo, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with the administration of the Prize Draw).

Entry Requirements

  1. In order to be entered into the Prize Draw, entrants will need to:

  2. connect a bank account to their Cleo account;

  3. join the Cleo WhatsApp community through the email invitation sent by Cleo;

  4. accept the Community Terms; and

  5. use the Cleo chat function during the Prize Draw Period, as further described below in Terms 5 and 9.

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.

  1. To be eligible to win the Prize Draw, entrants must use the Cleo chat function during the Prize Draw Period. Each time an entrant types a message into the Cleo chat function in the Cleo app during the Prize Draw Period, this will count as one interaction for that entrant (an "Interaction"), subject to a daily cap of 10 Interactions. Cleo’s responses will not count as Interactions. If an entrant records 10 Interactions in a single day during the Prize Draw Period, that entrant will receive one entry into the Prize Draw (an "Entry") for that day. A maximum of one Entry may be earned per entrant per day.

  2. For example:

  3. if a user types "Hello", Cleo responds, and the user then types "Can you assist me with X?", this will count as two Interactions for the user;

  4. if a user types "Hello, how are you?", this will count as one Interaction for the user; and

  5. if a user records 10 Interactions in one day during the Prize Draw Period, this will count as one Entry for that day. Any further Interactions by that user on the same day will not count towards an additional Entry. The maximum number of entries into the Prize Draw is 5,000. With 2 prizes available, the minimum odds of winning are 1 in 2,500, assuming the maximum number of eligible entrants participate.

  6. Following the end of the Prize Draw Period, Cleo will rank eligible entrants by the total number of Entries earned during the Prize Draw Period, as recorded and assessed by Cleo in accordance with these Terms. All eligible participants into the draw & anyone who hits the daily cap on at least one day earns an entry for that day and goes straight into the prize draw. All eligible entrants will be selected at random by a computer process from among the tied entrants.

  7. Only one Cleo account per individual may be used to participate in the Prize Draw. Multiple accounts, duplicate accounts, shared accounts or accounts created or used to manipulate the Prize Draw may be disqualified.

  8. The Prize Draw will run for the entire calendar month, beginning at 00:00 on the 1st day of the month, and ending at 23:59 on the last day of the month (the "Prize Draw Period"). Chat usage before or after the Prize Draw Period will not be counted.

  9. If an eligible Cleo account holder does not wish to participate in the Prize Draw, they may opt out by contacting Cleo at team@meetcleo.com before the closing date.

The Prize Draw

  1. Cleo will track Interactions during the Prize Draw Period on an internal dashboard and calculate Entries earned by each entrant, subject to the daily cap of 10 eligible Interactions per entrant per day. Cleo will use this information to identify the Top 5000 Entrants.

  2. Two winners will be chosen by a random draw performed by a computer process on the 1st day of the month following the end of the Prize Draw Period. The two winners will be selected after the end of the Prize Draw Period from among the Top 5000 Entrants.

  3. The first winner chosen will receive a prize of £500.

  4. The second winner chosen will receive a prize of £300.

  5. Prize winners will receive an email from the email address team@meetcleo.com  on the 1st day of the month following the end of the Prize Draw Period. If a winner does not respond to Cleo, Cleo will attempt to contact that winner again by email on the 3rd day of the month following the end of the Prize Draw Period. If a winner has not claimed the prize by the 5th day of the month following the end of the Prize Draw Period, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and Cleo will be entitled to select an alternative winner by a further random draw from the remaining Top 5000 Entrants.

  6. Each winner who responds to the notification email within the timeframe described above will receive their prize. The prize will be transferred to the bank account that is connected to their Cleo account within 7 days of the winner claiming their prize.

  7. Cleo may disregard any Interactions that it reasonably considers to be fraudulent, automated, artificial, abusive, generated by bots or scripts, generated through multiple accounts, repetitive spam, technically manipulated, or otherwise inconsistent with normal use of the Cleo chat function or these Terms.

General

  1. Cleo accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, network or server failure of any kind.

  2. The prizes for the winners are non-exchangeable and non-transferable.

  3. The decision of Cleo regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

  4. Cleo must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation Cleo will send the surname and county of the prize winners to anyone who emails team@meetcleo.com  or writes to 4th Floor, The Gilbert, 40 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1PX (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date stated in Term 9. If you object to any or all of your surname and county being published or made available, please contact Cleo at team@meetcleo.com  . In such circumstances, Cleo must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

  5. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms upon entry. Cleo reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these Terms.

  6. Cleo reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so.

  7. Insofar as is permitted by law, Cleo, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Cleo, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  8. Personal data supplied during the course of this Prize Draw will only be processed as set out in Cleo’s UK Privacy Policy (available at https://web.meetcleo.com/page/uk/privacy-policy). See also Term 21 with regard to the announcement of winners.

  9. These Terms and this Prize Draw are governed by English law. If any entrants to this Prize Draw wish to initiate court proceedings, then they must do so within the courts of the United Kingdom.
